As for E-readers, since I use a Kindle myself, I've not had the problem you indicated. it's possible you're using a different program than I am, however. I use "Calibre" for my conversion needs, and have had no problems (admittedly HTML ports over cleaner than PDF, but pdf converts pretty well, with only some odd spacing issues and occasional unrecognized characters).

>Let us not forget who had to face the current Caesar for permission to dig here.”
>your reputation for honoring zebra-kind’s traditions, even as you sift through our past, cleared much of the way.
-Wait wait ? From what I’m understanding here ; they are conducting some sort of archeological digging, on zebra lands, with express permission of the ‘’King/Sultan’’ of the region himself... but, Celestia is still jumping there all unannounced, seemingly to threaten them, even though they are OUTSIDE her land/jurisdiction ?
How does that work ?
>“Commander Ironfeather? Secure this tent. Nopony is toenter or leave until I give my say so.”
-It’s, huh, a tent ? You can literally flip the lower border of one side to enter, if you want ?
It just sounds like a bit of a funny generic order.
>“There is a preponderance of the feminine in Equestria.
-Well... it’s not really true anymore, in the recent line of episodes of Season 2.
I always found it weird that people supposed that, just because there was a few more females than males **on camera**...
>“Sacrifice,” Celestia answered, a shadow of worry crossing her face, “you are missing ‘his’element, the Element of Sacrifice.”
-Dun-duun DUN ! Archeological diggings always tend to find mysterious-powerful-dangerous artefacts and/or awaken old demons/creatures forgotten by the ages. Most of them, in Egypt-like nations, for some reasons.
-----
Well... something to balance the odd decision to have a ‘mandatory 100% pure female team/Elements bearers’, of the previous stories...
Honestly, for a second, I feared it would be a dumb ‘female supremacy VS male supremacy’(or a large/heavy focus on it) story, hidden behind some random villain... It doesn’t ‘’look’’ like it will be the case, so far.
Which is encouraging.
Hence why two of the guards were making constant rounds around the tent. Besides, Celestia and the ponies inside would've noticed someone come in, and entering it was the only way they could have gotten around Celestia's spell.
Eh, I made my call on that one way back in Book 1, so I'm running with the idea.
Oddly, this isn't... exactly the case. More will be explained in time.
And yes, I had this planned for a while, even back in Book 1. This was the first thread that told me there would be far more to the story. More, you might be surprised where the "dumb male" side is going as well, but I won't ruin future plot points.

-I'm not sure to understand what you mean ?
What I essentially said was : I hope this isn't a ''female supremacy VS male supremacy(or a large/heavy focus on it)'' story. 'That' would make for a rather poor base for a 'good' story, *IF* it was the case.
As for the rest, I'm saying you may be multiple parts disappointed, surprised, and hopefully in the end, happy with how I handled it.
